Gabrielle Best Husband and Adam Elfenbein Join VSB Council

Gabrielle Best Husband and Adam ElfenbeinGabrielle A. Best Husband, owner and founding partner of G. Best Husband Law, and Adam D. Elfenbein, owner of Elfenbein Law, have met the criteria to serve the 2025–2026 term representing the 17th and 19th Judicial Circuits on the VSB Council.

For nearly a decade, Best Husband has represented clients in domestic and civil disputes while remaining committed to pro bono work. She says this path has taught her that access to justice is not a luxury but a lifeline.

“As a firm owner and trial attorney, I bring practical experience, cultural perspective, and a strong ethic of service,” Best Husband said. “I understand the daily demand of legal practice and the systemic barriers clients and lawyers face.”

Best Husband sought to serve on the Virginia State Bar Council for the 19th Judicial Circuit to help strengthen public confidence in the legal profession, support initiatives that foster professional development, and advocate for policies that expand access, uphold integrity, and reflect the communities she serves.

Elfenbein served as a VSB Council member for the 17th Circuit for several years. When asked about serving on the Council, he says people get out of it what they put into it.

“I generally wrote reports for each Council meeting (it is more time-intensive than it sounds),” Elfenbein said. “I served on the Client’s Protection Fund Board and the Committee on the Unauthorized Practice of Law, and I enjoyed the council debates.”

Elfenbein wanted to serve on the Council again because there are several interesting issues on the immediate horizon that he would like to contribute to. These issues include AI and its many ramifications, the evolution of online filing, representation of the underserved, and fundamental changes to how attorneys practice law.

Elfenbein’s term began September 5, 2025 and Best Husband's term began September 25, 2025.
