Call for Attorney Mediators: Make an Impact with the VSB Fee Dispute Resolution Program
The Virginia State Bar’s (VSB) Fee Dispute Resolution Program (FDRP) is expanding—and we’re looking for experienced attorney-mediators ready to step in and make a difference. FDRP offers a confidential, informal, and cost-free process for resolving attorney-client fee disputes—helping parties reach fair outcomes without the time, expense, and strain of litigation. Demand is growing across Virginia, and Circuit Committee panels need qualified attorney mediators to meet it.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
Attorney-mediators for Circuit Committee Resolution of Fee Dispute (CCRFD) panels are selected based on their certification, training, experience, and references.
To serve, volunteers must:
- Be active, in-good-standing members of the Virginia State Bar
- Have a minimum of five (5) years in legal practice
- Be certified by the Supreme Court of Virginia
- Complete the FDRP online training program (includes 3 CLE credits, including 1 ethics hour)
- Conduct a conflict check before accepting any matter
- Adhere to the Rules of Professional Conduct
